I thought it looked like OG and app 'Picture This' agrees. What gave it away was the clump. BG can be higher CP than OG, mainly because it's usually later maturing (closer to alfalfa on maturity). Both are what's called cool season grasses (grow better in spring/fall). I feel both help alfalfa dry down/curing for dry hay.

My understanding is cool season grasses grow the best 200 miles either side of the US/Canada border. Because OG matures earlier, it almost a weed here, when alfalfa is 1/2 bloom or later, OG is mature dropping seeds like crazy. I plant BG instead of OG because of this reason, but in 5+ years my fields are full of OG.
