SE SD
In soybeans, I don't think there is any yield bump. But in corn, I know I get better stands with a new 1775 vs the old 7200 vac, 1770 vac. The XP row unit with ProMax 40 plates, knock out wheels, etc. were a big improvement on singulation. I personally think Springs are just as good, if not better than air bags. IRHD is awesome WHEN IT WORKS! I can literally hear the planter when it hits a hard pan and the IRHD is applying more force. My end rows, corners have never looked better since IRHD. Now that being said, for whatever reason I could get a great almost perfect picket row fence stand with a finger pickup 7000. BUT you have to remember that equipment was way lighter then too, and yields were less, populations a little less, not as much residue, no BT corn. So in that instance the field conditions back then were different. Now with these huge, heavy tillage implements 4wd's, semi's, combines, 40'+ headers...It's just a different animal.
