If you don't have a good monitor, you won't know if you have issues until it comes up. Years ago 7000 planter had a clutch going bad, would slip for a fraction of a second going thru the field. My basic monitor would flash for a fraction of a second sometimes. I figured bad wiring after digging and checking. Showed up good when the corn came up. Good thing it was the last field.
A 20/20 monitor shows me instantly if a meter needs attention, or if a different hybrid need more or less vac pressure
Row shut offs are a no brainer for seed savings, even on square fields, unless you have the time to stop, raise, stop, lower.
Variable rate works well on variable soils.
