Subject: replicated data is seldom simple

Seymour, IL
We can all have different ideas on what pays and what does not....
quickest payback for corn is the row shut offs.... beans take longer; and evaluations of each of the other add ons...

everyone asks about... how do they compare?
If setting up a planter trial, that means that the only variable would be the planter itself.
Planter size needs to be the same.
If pulling the precision planter at 7 mph, pull the 7000 at 7 mph
should have comparable tractor on each planter too

As noted above, productivity is another important measure.... does the improvement let you get more done faster and in a more timely manner?

The point of research is to identify the variable of change.
Comparing pulling a new planter at 7 mph and the old one at 4.5 mph would not be the same.
