mn | kstate90 - 4/2/2026 09:03 I know of two wind farm projects in Central Kansas that have been cancelled in the last year. I don't see much more being built due to the construction costs plus the open opposition to them. The anti wind/solar/data center groups are getting much better organized at stopping them. Good or bad I don't know. Most of the car companies except for Tesla have abandoned the full EV route for the hybrid vehicles. My nephews work for one of the big three car companies as engineers. They worked several years on the EV projects and were involved with several vehicles that made it to production. They have both transitioned to the hybrid vehicles.
California shut down some Hydro generation and took out Dams and now their Electricity rates are double Midwest rates. New York, Maine, and other NE states shut down some coal generation, and their Electricity rates are also double that of the Midwest. They want Solar and wind generation instead but not in their back yards. Now the Electric Companies say they need large power lines to take Electricity from Midwest to these states. |
