I bought 29 cows from a Lely robot farm and trying to train them to go through our DeLaval robots. They are starting to do better and several are going through by themself and the rest are starting to go in better. The problem with pets they sneak up behind you and rub there head on your back and give you a shove or come up and want there head scratched. The biggest problem with them is if they don’t want to go where you want them to they ether just stand there and not move or just walk over the top of you. Other than that they are nice cows but I hate to work with tame cows.

Have very tame cows here, spend any time in the milking or heifer barns and you will be mauled by a bunch of them looking for a head rub or tail scratch.

Out of 400 odd beasts around here well over 300 we could give them a pet without having them move out of reach.

Much rather have very tame cows than wild ones, and have told my employees that petting cows for part of the day is acceptable and billable hours lol.

I've never understood why some people have cattle - if they are fearful and scatter when they see people what an awful way to spend your working life in my opinion.

I really like cows though and realize having a 1400lb animal use you as a scratching post isn't everyone's idea of a good time haha.
