I think there's to may variables to give a broad answer. A banker somewhere probably has a ratio of some kind.
One of the big variables is what the carry in the market is. Assuming cash is available, even at zero net worth, if the market has good carry over interest expense it would make sense to lock that in a pay the interest while you wait to deliver
