Jim, you and the OP are talking about 2 different things, and quite frankly not touching a cow doesn't make much sense. We have multiple cows in the herd that were either bottle calves or show heifers. Do I make it a point to scratch them...no, but if I want to stand there and scratch her neck and talk to her, I do, as do the grandkids. Your apparent fear or extra caution is unfounded, and really kind of unnatural
I got petted by a brahma cross cow a couple years ago! Does that count? Lol
