I agee . Trump does not know what he is doing and Hegseth is grossly imcompetent and has little training and experience for the role.. And the US is not prepared for a ground war. Last one was Vietnam and we know how that turned out. Iran is the most powerful force the US has faced since perhaps WW2. And in WW2 the Russians carried the vast portion of the load by far. The US did not do well in Korea, in VN the US was defeated, Iraq was a high school bully picking on a pre kindergardner, Afganistan was the US vs resistance fighters, same with Yemen. (And we know how the Houthis manhanded the Saudi army with it's ABrams and its F-15s and Typhoons and the Saudis then ran away from the Houthi and have stayed on their side of the fence since they had their back sides handed to them. The opponents had virtually no air force or navy. But one difference was the US invaded each of these countries.
If anyone would look at the terrain in Iran if they had an IQ above 80 they would forget about a land battle. And most of the islands are worse than the mainland. I remember back in Viet Nam days I was in the 5th army and was assigned to do officer efficiency reports. I interviewed up to general officers. I thought to myself I hope I never have to be in combat with these clowns.
Iran has probably used about a 1/3 to 1/2 of their inventory. Their Shahed drone is prob best in class and they have hypersonic heavy rockets.
