It’s a tool to transfer money from the public treasury into agriculture, and maybe that is popular today.

The magic is all about the price per ton of carbon the public or administration finds reasonable and/or economically viable/realistic, and how long you can stake your claim to those public dollars in lieu of another technology or political wind change.

I think the real kicker will be getting more than about 5% of the tax credit money from an ethanol producer.
