Driftless SW Wisconsin
I'm not sure if it applies to your setup but years ago when I installed my for-most tub, alley and chute it had "no backs" on each end of the short alley. These didn't work very well at all.

Cows in the alley got riled up watching the vet working in the chute and especially in the palp cage right in front of them.

I replaced the no-backs with for-most's solid sheeted, horizontal sliding doors/gates and the whole system works much better and has for 20 years. Everybody stays calmer.
