Southern Indiana | You are what you eat. My cows get early cut high moisture grass hay. Early cut means early to mid May, not late June waiting for the weather to straighten out. It never does.
Just as important is a high quality mineral program.
On 100 cows we have not had 1 calf in the last 3 years that did not know what to do. We did have a few twins that mama would not have anything to do with one but they were looking.
Calf will get all the immunity they need from mama, especially if you do the scour bos vaccine in the last trimester. They definitely don't need an automatic shot of exceede. | |
