| The freeze in January isn’t what is causing high prices today. This has been a long deteriorating industry in Florida due to many issues. Diseases, pests, hurricanes, and housing have had devastating impacts on the industry.
The hard freeze earlier this year didn’t help but is certainly not the main issue. As 555 indicated earlier, it was in the 20s down to the south tip of the state earlier this year. It was not as bad on citrus but had very costly effects on other specialty crops. | |
