What's the reason for wanting something different? A 706 or 3020 would still be my first pick for something in that size range, provided I didn't need a cab.
If it were me, I'd limp that 706 through this next summer, then do a full refresh over next winter. Aim to correct every known issue all in one crack. New wiring harness, new transmission and MCV seals, new hoses, etc.
