| We have 4 horses here, mostly for my daughter. If I don't have to raise a grandchild or pay for drug or alcohol rehab the horse expenses have all been worth it. Lots of distractions for kids these days. After spending days operating and working on machinery I enjoy the quiet time with my horses. Unfortunately, as I get older my comfort zone is becoming more narrow as I don't like too hot or too cold. The best riding weather are my busiest seasons on the farm but the horses don't mind so long as they are fed daily. We do use the horses several times a year to round up cattle from the pasture. ATVs would be more efficient but the horses are more fun. | |
