What we have done is cut the fence and push them on to green wheat in spring or green hay millet in summer time. It may burn but it’s harder to get the fire going in that and gives you valuable time. Trying to fight these prairie fires is hard to do. They move so fast and cover acres in no time at all.

Iv pulled our semi water trailer trying to spray the fire line down but all your doing trying your hardest to say ahead of the line and your melting stuff. Tractor and disk is a good plan B. I wouldn’t get cought in a pickup tho. Just takes one tire to get hot and pop! and then you’re running on foot. And you can’t run fast enough.!!!!
