North Central Indiana | We have them here, wouldn’t necessarily choose to have them but literally the only inconvenience is farming around them. Not sure what size ours are but they’re the big SOBs. Relatives love to complain about the “big power lines” running through their land which makes me laugh, they’d fit in the footprint of one leg of ours. Haven’t had trouble with GPS or RTK signal under or around them. Extensive tile work done, no trouble holding grade, etc. I’m sensitive to the shock when walking under them and touching growing plants, others in the family don’t feel it so it seems to be specific to the person. Not sure what the effects are, I’ve always lived by one, grandparents have always lived by one, can’t say we’ve had more negative health impacts than anyone else I know that don’t live by one. They buzz like others said, humid or foggy days are the worst. Can hear the buzz up to a mile away in rural areas where it’s quiet. There is added value depending on how you look at it. We have 2 huge blocks of land (>1000 acres in each) with towers going through. Solar farms salivate over that as they can apparently tie right in if they put a substation by the lines.
