Buy the blanks at JD,drill your holes in the correct spots.It takes a very small hole to suck seeds on of you have good vacuum.You will also have less holes than say a corn plate and suck will be high with a few holes.You can fill holes with JB weld but,,,if it fails you wont know til too late.Distance is determined by your pumpkin type/variety.Usually full vining large pumpkins need the most space.If you crowd a lot you can have severe disease issues and or poor pollination.
