| My wife used to be in "outside sales" and told me you have to make at least 3 visits to a potential customer before you could expect to make a sale. That being said, they best way that I have seen is to get a seed dealership with a respected brand and do a thorough job with your customers. That forces you to have direct contact with them for at least a few times per year. Build a relationship with them, talk about farming and the future. I have seen several rent their farms to the dealers when retirement time rolls around. When it comes to off-farm owners, you might have to get more creative. | |
