Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

It was a no brainer for me.
Our well water was junk -- lots of iron and calcium. Not much of it either. Everything it touched turned red. Oil exploration made it worse. I signed up as soon as I could. Gave them 3/4 mile for their main line right of way. Just so happened that there was an old abandoned stretch of paved highway right where I gave them ROW. Somehow, much of the old pavement got buried and the grade got leveled off so I had a big field instead of three little ones. A couple years later, they came through with a small feeder line for homes, etc. I gave them ROW for a bit over two miles. They put taps where I wanted them on that line. One to my house, one to my machine shed and three more on another homesite I had. They bored from the line, under the road and to my existing well pit in my house. Lots of good water for the house and lots of good water for sprayer at the machine shed tap. It is great. We can't irrigate crops with it but we can use as much as we want for yard and landscape watering.
No meter, no hook-up fee, and no bills. Still a few refused the deal ???
Water is filtered and sanitized with chloramine. I'm told that the line is long enough that chlorine doesn't have enough life to make the length of the line and remain active.
