St. Joseph, Champaign County, IL
Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, sits on top of the Mahomet Aquifer. This aquifer supplies 850,000 people with water, according to a quick internet search. The Illinois American Water wells, on the West side of Champaign, are already drawing a cone of depression that is causing the natural flow of the water in the aquifer to be reversed. That doesn't sound like a possible issue to worry about to you? So don't worry about adding any extra load to the aquifer, right? There has never been an aquifer depleted to the point of being basically useless, due to the withdrawal of the water by man's wells?

There was a company that was testing the water, as far as possibly constructing a data center in Champaign County, late last year. They were talking of it needing 11,000,000 gallons of water a day. I guess that possible extra withdrawal from the aquifer wouldn't a mount to anything at all, because water "never leaves the planet."
