East Central Arkansas | My thought is to sign up and get your tap installed weather you want to use it or not at the time line is put in. It's nice having water during power outages even though during long term outages the rural water pump could also be down. They usually work on getting power to that pump first though. Some do have there on standby power. Our local one has a gearhead pump that can be run from a tractor pto.
One thing that happens though is once most folks get the rural water folks quit maintaining their pumps and wells and come completely dependent on the rural water system.
Things get old and wore out and lack of maintenance takes it's toll. I think a lot of times some of these systems got big government loans or grants to put them in. | |
