I feel if my kids aren't welcome then don't invite me either. I will not attend a wedding/reception that requests no kids present. Seems odd to me to invite people to the beginning of your family but the family I created is not welcome. I also would not let my children kick, scream, cry, throw a fit during someone's ceremony. That would be handled immediately if it happened. I suppose not all parents are like that
