| Way too big IMO, but loading fats is out of my realm of experiance, If you are loading out of a Bud Box all the how to pieces I have ever seen say a Bud Box should be 12x20, unless working the cattle on horse back then go 14 feet wide. Anything much bigger then this is no longer a Bud Box, if you watch the animated video you will see the handler in the box NEVER chases the cattle out of the box, they go on their own because it is a smaller confinement then they are comfortable in. If loading fats on a gooseneck you only need enough to load one section of the trailer at a time, gate them off then do it again. I have about 30 feet of alley ahead of the chute and palp cage, I could fit in 7 if every one cooperates, but usually shoot for 4-5 cows at a time, just simply works much better not to overload any one part of the system. My load out area is 14x 26 or so, it is not a Bud Box though, just a pen with a 100 degree turn that narrows to about 5 foot wide, short alley to the trailer with a flare at the end the width or the trailer, I run in enough feeders to fill one trailer compartment then work them towards the trailer and keep swinging gates to hold them, works well. If loading a trailer out of a Bud box, I would think you would want an alley going to the trailer and maybe load into the slider IDK, maybe with some sort of no backs in it. Others on here are far more qualified then I to tell you what works the best to load fats or semis. | |
