Mid MO | Do you want urban sprawl..... cause that's what we got along with the water line. We had an old greatest generation neighbor who raised a holy ruckus against the water line. Old neighbor paid to have his water hauled. Dad hauled water for our house and for the hogs seasonally. He thought alot of Bill, but was sick and tired of hauling water. Turns out Ol' Bill was right..... ):
If it's a private water corporation, the profits leave the community. If it's a public, local outfit, the money stays local. Private outfits raise rates every year and screw the local district for the most part. They also dink around with the operators. One for profit outfit here will use an operator's licence for a plant they've never stepped foot in. DNR comes in to make an insepection and the op is completely blind sided. (Op license is like a nurse's licence. It allows you to work in certain plants and denotes some level of proficiency.) Corporate guys have different accounting methods that maximize their bottom line while locals tend to run on a shoe string and keep things affordable (sometimes to the point of lunacy).
