As to not derail the cruise post below, I am opting to start a new thread. On the post below, the no kids on the cruise which led to the mention of weddings where children are not invited.
For wedding invites that state no kids I simply RSVP not coming. On the RSVPs that leave out "and family" I RSVP with the kids included in my headcount. In all the years I have RSVPed to weddings with head count including the children, I have only been called one time and told kids were not allowed so we skipped the wedding and had a family weekend instead. If we don't attend, we don't send a gift. The only exception is for close friends and the reason we don't attend is due to a scheduling conflict.
To me your presence at a wedding is the greatest gift you can give because it shows the couple that you are there to support them, especially when you drive several hours to attend their wedding. Additionally, your presence should be there not only on their special day but throughout their marriage journey when they need friends and family to lean on during those difficult times in life.
Do you attend weddings where kids are not allowed?
