Just saw this story. Talk about incompetence at the highest level. Tragic



Seems a little harsh. Yes, the controller messed up. So did the fire truck operators, because while it’s hard to see a jet coming at you in the rainy dark, when you’re crossing a runway you need to be really looking hard to make sure no jet is coming at you. They're human, and the only way to eliminate human error is to eliminate humans. Now that we’ve all seen a sampling of AI’s “brilliance,” I think we all need to do our best to expect and cope with human error and acknowledge that perfection doesn’t exist in this world.
