| Dad has 5 carwashes in southern PA/cental MD. Each location has 2 automatics and several hand bays. I agree with everything above. It's a 7 day a week job. Some days you run through, clean up a little, and you're done in a few hours. Some days are busy sun up to sun down. They are like any other business, a good operator can make good profit. You have to keep up on maintenance, watch your costs, have a good location. It's not a stop by once a week and collect the quarters thing. At all. There are several of the new style membership washes around us now, and gas stations with washes. Dad's are still doing well. He has good locations though and is very good about keeping his clean, washing well, and everything working. I know of a few others around that had their revenue drop by half. | |
