I had perfect attendance in both 5th and 6th grade.   All they gave me was a certificate each year.   No real incentive to not miss days either.   I knew kids that missed a ton of days every year and never seemed to hurt them any.



Probably easily could count the days I missed in high school with the fingers on one hand.  The school system I attended had a policy if you had perfect attendance in the first half the school year you could opt out of a exam of YOUR choice both semesters it was 2 exams of your choice without affecting your grades.   Some teachers had policies if your grade was high enough you were opted out.  Between the 2 I had semesters I didn’t have to take an exam.
