| Part of the problem is the parents see no point in education.
Some of the kids know they will get a government check if they fill out the forms. IF they can't fill out the forms someone will do it for them. That is how their parents live.
Some of the kids have recent immigrant history. Their parents see no reason for school as they think that packing plant job is pretty gravy. And itis compared to what they are used to.
Throw in the mix that a high percentage of parents are drug users.
Then add that most folks do not comprehend that what they do or don't do today affects things years down the road. | |
