| Not necessarily CVT. I think some of the newer powershifts do it also.
I know my dt180 at say, 1800 rpm, when I come in to a hard pull or hill, the engine will pull down, pushing the throttle open will make it speed backup. The only way to get maximum torque is to run the throttle wide open.
The engines of the 05- 2010 era that I have driven do that. Something about passing emissions.
They are not like my old 7060 that would hold that rpm against an increasing load until it melted down.
The newer ones will select the rpm and gear needed to maintain that speed at the most fuel efficient combination of gearing and rpm. | |
