Holly Hill, SC | I can not image people like the 1000 series unless we are talking about something different. We had a 1064 that I ran in the early 2000's so it had plenty of hours on it. It is the reason I run JD corn heads on Case combine now. The problems I had with the 1064 included: Front needle bearing needed grease every 4 hours and caused break down. Upgraded to the "water pump bearing" style. This was OK unless the main shaft in the roller was worn at the stupid pins that needed hammering on the ends. The ends of the bearing would break off unless you replaced the main shaft. Case wouldn't sell it but was available from Shoups. Header loss was awful unless you meticulously adjusted the deck plates. The nuts used to secure the deck plates where spot welded in place and would break free. What a turd. | |
