Subject: RE: Early beans

Northeast IN
Always start with beans here before corn UNLESS weather doesn’t cooperate and we get to far into may before being able to do anything. We feel beans tolerate cooler soils better than corn and can stay under ground longer with fewer issues. Early planted beans most generally out yield later beans. Allows them more time to mature before summer solstice. When planting earlier we start with the earlier maturities. If help is plentiful, we never stop a bean planter to plant corn but if limited on help we stop a bean planter to plant corn then go back to beans.
