| I'm located just north of Springfield,IL. The last 3 years our best soybeans have been 2.8s and 2.9s planted around 4/10. We quit planting anything over a 3.7 the yield hasn't been there on later maturing beans. We will continue to plant soybeans first and wait for corn. 2 of the last 3 years our best corn has been planted in May but that doesn't mean I'm going to wait till May to plant corn. If I can plant corn late April with a good forecast and soil conditions I definitely will. You never know if it will be your only window to plant in good conditions. | |
