NWC Ohio | Unfortunatly it appears that most carriers will be dropping land line service in the future, only time will tell how long that will be. Verizon bought back Frontier (the land line side of Verizon that verizon sold off years ago) not long ago. Talked with the contracted maintance crew last summer while they were changing poles, and fixing poles along my road, and others in the area. He didn't give me an exact timeframe on how long till they planned on abandoning the land lines, but said it's emminant. Crew was from North or South Carolina and said they are basiacly the only maintanance contractor left to cover a massive territory all the way up through Ohio. A county over the Amish area they have already switched their land lines and phone booths over to something other than land line based. | |
