Subject: RE: Challenger mt reaction arm

West Central Indiana
Some others will chime in with more experience than me. I have a 2004 MT855...a first generation of these machines. I bought used in 2011. It had one reaction arm redone when I bought it. I ran it a few years and the updated one started leaking. I think it was around $7500 for the dealership to come out and "exchange" it and the casting it's mounted in. The mechanic looked at the other side of my tractor and said "You still have an original one on this side". Several years later the original failed. The tractor has 6450 hours on it now. I don't remember the years/hours when the two failed...been awhile. I have $15,000 just in reaction arm bearings. If I had done the work myself I don't know how cheap I could have done it.

We change the engine oil at 250 hours and we change the reaction arm oil in the bearing housing at the same time. Use 50W synthetic oil.
