Bottom of the Mitten | Lots of mixed experiences here. He's mine. A few years ago I had a small low spot get frozen at about the stage yours is in. The next day it was flopped over as if it was dead and kind of mushy. It did grow out of it but it was severely behind the rest of the field. I monitored it all season and in the fall the ears were way behind too. Again, just a small spot so I have no yield comparisons, just visual. Of course if you replant late like this and get a perfect stand you're going to lose a lot of top end potential anyway. So my guess is yours will still make corn but you'll be disappointed with it. As the saying goes, corn can not have a bad day | |
