Crop rotation/diversity every university will agree it breaks disease, insect, and weed cycles.
They will also agree that you get better corn and soybean yields in a three plus year rotation versus a back-to-back corn soybean rotation
Every soil scientist and university would agree that a cover crop improves water infiltration reduces erosion and runoff reduces nitrogen and nutrients leaching out your tile water. It also improves nutrient cycling.
I don't know how much science you need or how much data you need to prove that if you plow down an alfalfa field or a cover crop mix that you are generating a tremendous amount of nitrogen and cycling nutrients. But again that's basic soil science basic information.
Adding livestock to the rotation again every scientist at every university would agree that it offers you more diversity more opportunities recharges the soil another revenue stream..
So when you guys are asking for data what exactly are you asking for data on?
Regenerative is a system. Biological ecological profitability sustainability it's a system.
The great part about it is in the system I can have a major part of my system have a failure and the system still succeeds. Because the system is built on redundancy and adaptability. If I went to my local retailer today and he said we have no fertilizer and no chemical I would grow the exact same crops I was going to anyhow.
In the modern system what happens if you can't get nitrogen, your favorite herbicide gets banned, your fertilizer input cost go through the roof. Your system collapses. How many corn acres would you grow in this year if nitrogen wasn't available. You have a system that's built upon dependency
So I will ask again what exact data are you guys looking for for regenerative agriculture?
