SteigerMan310 - 3/15/2026 08:40 Are you running triple stack corn? I don’t think bifenthrin is good enough if you actually have an issue…

If you have real CRW pressure bifentherin is not going to do much of anything.

You need traited corn with multiple modes of CRW protection and/or Aztec or Force dry insecticide, or Index if liquid is the only option.      All of those insecticide options are much more expensive than Bifentherin, but they’ll actually do something to protect your roots from CRW.

If long term CoC is what you’re trying to do you might want to start checking for beetles in season and doing beetle bombing to lower egg counts for the next year.

Spending $30 (or more) per acre to control CRW is a lot but it won’t seem that bad vs scrapping down corn off of the ground.     Down corn is pure misery and very hard of your combine and head.

Agree.

The most important thing you can do is become familiar with your little friends life cycle and reproduction habits. Learn to differentiate between males and pregnant (gravid?) females, AND either own a drone or be friends with someone who does, or someone who is an ag pilot.

Keeping the population down in late summer is not the only step needed, but it makes spring treatments more effective.
