No insecticide here has not helped reduce slugs or if it has I would not want to see how bad they can get.

Dan you plan seems good and is about the same as ours. For us one pass with an old style turbo till is not aggressive enough to keep slugs at bay but you vertical till looks to be more aggressive than that. We moved on to a turbo max where we can angle the blades to be more aggressive. I believe our plan is to run shark tooth row cleaners to be more aggressive there also.

We Pre scout for slugs prior to planting but last year that plan failed somewhat as they hatched out last yr later and still caused issues so we are back to tillage.

Bait would be last resort for us.

Also got reminded last year if you use manure/ compost and incorporated it then you better run insecticide as seed corn maggots will eat up your stand too.
