Subject: Slugs in NT soybeans??

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
Planting SB this year ---slugs always a concern
looks like some bait is available BUT expensive and questionable if effective (deadline, FERROXX contains 5% sodium ferric EDTA)

All SB after corn about 1/3 of acres annual rye grass CC 2/3 of acres no CC standing 18" stalks

have 200 acres that has been problematic getting a stand of SB NT into standing CC
Will not straight NT into CC --planning on killing CC this week and hopefully VT in a couple weeks then plant
Decided to risk some possible erosion to achieve a stand ---not burying everything
Planning one VT pass on everything
30" rows planting 15" off the old rows and row cleaners on planter scraping to smooth off

pics tell the story (taken today)

Comments, critiques, or discussion what works or didn't appreciated

Dan

Bottom pic is one VT pass when it was very wet
