All you can do before it comes out is bushhog it. Kill the regrowth grass this fall, 3 quarts roundup and 2lbs ams does wonders. After spraying if it has anthills pull a heavy cutting tool across it just deep enough to take the anthills out , my landoll vt works good for this. Do a heavy rate of burn down next spring and plant. First year will not be best, it is good to go the next.
