If it's fairly smooth, id honestly just no-till into it if you have the equipment to do so. Otherwise, take a field cultivator out and run it just low enough to take out the anthills, old gopher mounds, and just level the top off. Or take a disc and do the same thing followed by a harrow. We had better luck doing all the above versus plowing then working the sod down multiple times.
