Why should the kid who wants to stay (often well into their 50s before they get the chance to take over) have to buy out all the siblings just to keep the thing together. Consolidation and BTO in the ag world is 100% on family farms getting sold off because the non farm relatives want cash.

If the kid has spent 35+/- years and doesn’t have enough of his own doing and the whole farm that he has spent his life working isn’t his, then he mustn’t have much initiative and ambition. Acquiring a percentage of his parents farm should be a bonus.
