Pilot Grove, Missouri
I have a couple small "hilltop" fields that soil/moisture profile won't support corn that I had in a 2-year Beans - SRW/Double Crop Beans rotation. Dropped SRW out two falls ago when I saw the cash price trending to stay around 5 or under (we have a not so good basis at the local elevator, currently -55). I wouldn't need double the price for me but I'd want to consistently see closer to $6 cash SRW to put it back in the rotation in those two fields. Guys around here that can consistently get close to or over 100bu yields are still planting wheat but I'm thrilled when I break 70 and only broke 80 once in one of the fields.
