Or put another way, the farm legacy has more value than the relationships in the family. To each their own. This is the stuff that makes my fellow attorneys a lot of money , family squabbling. I could make the same argument about any business. Follow in my footsteps, or you are out the door. Legacy, is a relative term.
Thanks for putting words in my mouth that I did not say. Maybe you can’t figure it out, but there are ways of making sure all children are well taken care of without devaluing any family relationships.
Fair and equal are two different things. What’s always fair isn’t equal, an what’s equal isn’t always fair. My kids will grow up knowing the difference between the two.
Maybe farm legacy isn’t important to you, but to some people it is. |
