Point well taken. With that being said, over the years, at least in my career path, I’ve always found it interesting because when the farm wife has said “ it is either me or the farm”…I think the farm has won every time. It just goes to show the pull of the farm and why some of these legacy decisions are done the way they are.
I know that type. Lots of new machinery, but she can't even get new carpet in the house when it gets shabby. No vacations, married to the farm and the cow gets more attention. It happens. I have no answer for it, I have seen it in my neighborhood.
I also have heard from 2 farmers nearing retirement, that had sons that wanted that Quadtrack sitting in the yard. Not good. Spoiled brats.
