If the current govt export shutdown continues for the next 3 years, the ensuing market crash for grains might encourage big agri-trading conglomerates to merge with/get control of the grain buyers (elevators/processors/exporters). That would allow them to determine how many bushels they actually need - get those bushels contracted and tell everyone else to keep their grain. They'd probably get subsidies from the govt and eco-groups to take huge acres of land out of production (for things like the Buffalo Commons, nature and hunting preserves/etc). Imagine a stable price for grains and meats to keep consumers happy, and huge private parklands around every major city with none of the wasteful over-production that causes pollution/requires govt subsidies to get rid of the surplus. Maybe Elon and Bill Gates will coin a new fascist slogan -- land is too valuable to be left in the hands of greedy farmers...
