Very southern Mn
I would be fine if government reduced their payout to farmers. Problem is when they send disaster payments out for non disasters, subsidize crop insurance to 95% and encourage production no matter how economically feasible it is, I don’t have much choice. I am also told how to drain my land, taking buffer strips with no payments and a whole basket of other government regulations on my land. I argue that long term ( probably shorter than we think) it is not feasible for government to step in every circumstance and make everything right. We cannot take in 4 million people in every 4 years and take care of them, our sick, our elderly. Our health care system is broken. You can’t yell about Republicans cutting Medicare and at same time push for more illegal immigration. There is only so much money. People are retiring and burning thru what was paid in their SS in 5-7 years and living 15-20 more years. This is not sustainable. Our generation has taken what last generations have worked for and mortgaged our kids besides.
