North Central Indiana | Drainage pumps are a huge thing in spots. We live in old marshlands and I could take you to probably 30 within a 2 mile radius. Go west of us to the Kankakee river valley and they have pumps literally everywhere. Not running 24/7/365 but they pump a lot. Anyway on cost we ran 17 pumps at our maximum, typically cost us between $12-15/ac yearly. I think our highest year averaged $28/ac. Now we’ve gotten some tile systems redone and have our pump numbers down to 9. Electric is about the same, but we were able to get about 200 acres draining naturally instead of through pumps which was nice. Less maintenance with fewer pumps is awesome. Have some 10 and 12” prop pumps in retention ponds and ditches, and some closed concrete tanks with 6” submersible vfd drive pumps. Best part (sarcasm) is that a nice chunk of the ground that needs pumped also needs pivots to grow a consistent crop. That gets expensive
